I am a 29 year old girl getting back into running after taking a few years off... I am trying everyday to get stronger and become a healthier, fitter and leaner lady! I am also trying to train correctly and prevent injuries so that I can keep running for years and years to come. I started by 5K training and am now on 10K training... I will then move to 1/2 marathon and finish up with marathon training. I also supplement with weight training 2-3 days per week.
This is my favorite place to run! Love the trails at this park.
My running addiction has literally changed my life in a short period of time. I never realized how much I missed running until I came back to it. This is a lifestyle, not an occasional hobby. I also believe in making healthier food decisions. I am limiting fried-greasy foods, sugar and processed foods and trying to eat as many whole foods...aka fruits & veggies as possible. Lean meats like chicken and turkey and fish and shell fish are a do and limiting beef and pork and other meats loaded with saturated fats.
My goals are not only races and events but also a healthy lifestyle that I can pass on to my future children and hopefully bond with them as runners one day. I have an extremely supportive husband whom I love... Damien Sykes, you are my world!
I hope to inspire others to make healthy changes and decisions and to lead long and beautiful lives! Other than that, I am a huge sports enthusiast and pretty much a tomboy... I like to be girly sometimes, but I'd rather wear a cute pair of pink running shorts and asics than a pink dress any day.
Oh and I can't forget... i am a "dog mom" I have the cutest Beagle-Blue Heeler mix puppy... Her name is Pawly.
